In many production areas, cobots are used to sort bulk materials. In warehouses, for example, they can help pick, sort and pack goods. For this purpose, a 3D camera is usually integrated with the robot, and the recorded images are evaluated in real time and translated into robot control commands. This enables the cobot to pick up and sort goods independently of fixed waypoints.
 Sorting with cobots offers numerous advantages, including handling a variety of items and flexible programming. Sorting can furthermore be combined with packing and labeling.
