We're excited to unveil the new Mini 2, the next evolution in our ultra-compact cobot series. With double the payload (2kg) and four times the acceleration (400°/s²) compared to the original MiniCobo, the Mini 2 handles tasks faster, cuts cycle times, and opens the door to more demanding applications – all while keeping its compact size and intuitive user experience.

Expanding Application Possibilities 

Mini 2 is tailored for industries where space, speed, and safety are key – including food and beverage, pharmaceutical production, laboratory environments, and automated inspection systems. The added payload enables both the use of heavier tools, such as 3D vision systems for inspection, and the high-speed handling of heavier parts. 

“Our engineers completely reworked the internal mechanical structure to ensure long-term durability,” added Wei Shao, Chief Technology Officer at JAKA Europe. “Despite doubling the payload, we maintained the MiniCobo's elegant design and compatibility with our existing software ecosystem. That means seamless integration and no learning curve for users already familiar with JAKA robots.” 

The robot shares its programming interface and core software with the rest of JAKA's cobot family – from 1 kg to 30 kg payload systems – enabling a unified experience across all automation setups. 

Safety, Use Cases, and Customer Feedback 

While the increased payload and speed require higher attention to risk assessment and safety compliance, Mini 2 remains highly effective in enclosed or controlled environments, such as laboratory cells, packaging lines, or automated test systems. 

Prior to the European rollout, the robot was piloted with selected customers in Italy, whose early feedback confirmed both performance and flexibility. “Customers are already finding smart ways to deploy it – especially where fast, lightweight tasks need a small and reliable cobot,” said Lienke.
